Artist's Statement
I've worked with enamels for 15 years, but a lifetime isn't enough. My focus is on cloisonne jewelry with Japanese enamels. I use a fine silver base and silver or gold wires to create cells of rich transparent color. The enamels are shaded by firing multiple layers, then polished to a fine finish. This is my first face, a woman with an enigmatic expression emerging for the first time into the natural world.
